Sketch a day prompt of the 5th May 2025 was Underground. The first think I though to draw was related to the Velvet Underground. I then thought about various animals that live or nest underground like ants, rodents, badgers, naked-mole rats, etc.
The Velvet Underground is a rock band formed in 1964 with Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, and Moe Tucker. There was also Nico on the first album. The Velvet Underground is basically a proto-punk/underground band. I was a big fan when I was younger, I haven’t listened it for years yet the sketch prompt directly made me think of them.

I have done a drawing and a sketch for it. I draw the first album of the The Velvet Underground named The Velvet Underground and Nico with the artwork of the banana (peel slowly and see) by Andy Wahrol using my Daler-Rowney colour pencils on my usual A5 200gr sketchbook.
I also did a very quick sketch of the group member, which is also from another of their album using charcoal pencils, but I didn’t like the outcome. I did it quickly so I didn’t expected to do a realistic work as it was supposed to be a quick sketch, yet I need to practice my sketching. I also barely not used eraser, as the idea was a quick sketch. I use a bit of this putty eraser to erase tiny bit of line, but barring in mind it is charcoal pencil not my usual graphite pencils.
