Painting food was not my first time with Blue lessons. Before properly learning how to paint food stuffs, I drew and painted a steak platter from one of my favorite restaurant.

I love eating at the Chester Arms in Oxford for their steak platter, and of course, I take a photo each time to show to my friend reminding them we need to eat there as soon as possible.
#ads: All Amazon affiliation links in this article are items I really bought and used.
First I drew using my pencil the highlight of the platter containing steak meat, fries, cabbage and lettuce salad on a plate. I then using my fineliner to draw around the pencil line, and erased the pencil lines with my usual malleable eraser. I did the drawing and painting on Hobbicraft watercolor postcards. At the time, I did the watercolour wash with watercolor paints from Daler-Rowney, which I still have and use. I have them in small portable Meeden pans, so from now I will use them if I travel or run out of my new Winsor and Newton watercolours.
I am aiming to keep journaling my eating out. I have been recently to an Italian restaurant, took a picture of my lasagne, and I will paint them soon. Keep an eye on this blog to see the outcome.
