Yesterday sketch prompt from Sketch A Day app was Play. A vague prompt that can be anything but I eventually decided to sketch the album cover Play from Moby. I had fun drawing the album Play but sorry Moby, I have sketched you with a bigger head than you have. After doing the album The Velvet Underground and Nico from the band The Velver Undergound, and now this album from Moby, I realised that I really like to draw album cover.
For this drawing, or rather sketching, I first used the Derwent graphic 9H for the rough sketching then switched to the Faber Castell Jumbo 9000, with a bit of 12B graphite pencil from Faber Castell too to add more darkness to the shadows and the shoe sole using my pre-perforated sketchbook. I used a blending stump to blend the graphites, but I didn’t really used an eraser, except with a bit of kneaded eraser at the beginning when couple of graphite strokes were very off. Finally I used a red Posca marker pen for writing Play and drawing the play bouton of the album cover.
