I love tapir! My love for tapir (Tapirus) started when I met Nev during a capybara and tapir experience at Beale Wildlife Park in UK where I met and fed them. Tapirs (and capybaras of course) are lovely and amazing animals so of course I drew one. Few days ago (27 April 2025) was World Tapir Day and I forgot to post this blog post on time, but it is never too late to show tapir appreciation!

To sketch this sleepy Malayan tapir (Tapirus indicus) I used my usual graphite pencils Faber Castell Jumbo 9000 pencils and I blend the graphite with blending stumps. For the highlights I used a Tombow mono eraser and a white Posca pen. I used the my 200gr sketchbook.
