I have followed the Domestika course Artistic Portrait Drawing: Capture Authentic Expressions by Sam Brisley. The course is really well made to learn how to draw portrait using graphite pencil, especially how to understand and use values (highlight, light, shadow, cast shadow, etc.). The final project was drawing the portrait of Henry Cavill.

I used my usual sketchbook, I like it because I remove the page (they are pre-perforated pages and store it in my binder when I finish drawing my projects). The Faber-Castell 9000 Jumbo graphite pencils, I love them because they are thick pencils and so easier to use on my hand and wrist. I used the Tombow monozero eraser for the highlights, and basic blending stumps for blending the graphite. In addition to the pencils, I used a light blue and a silver Posca pens, they are acrylic markers and I love to use them to add a touch of color in my drawings and sketching. In this case, I used them on the eye of Henry Cavill to try to give a blue grey eye.
As I started to draw in early March 2025, I am really happy with the result.
