I have recently discovered leather patterns from Refined Pallet and of course I did this leather tarot cards deck. I use a blue wolf to represent werewolf and red lips with thangs to represent vampire, as I was inspired by the solo RPG games from Montford Tales. I actually play a french tarot which is a famous and commonly played card game, not a divination.

I have used the usual 2.0-2.5mm thick leather from J Wood Leather. I then used different dye and paints.

I used leather dye black, yellow and red from Fiebing’s Pro. I used the royal blue dye from Fiebing’s too, but I put too much of it and it ended very dark, almost black. I corrected that by using a blue acrylic paint from Army Painter, same used for the fountain pen dice bag I made. I used neatsfoot oil, resolene and tokonole for the finish of this leather tarot deck. I bought the red waxed thread for sewing leather by hand from Amazon, and blue one from Stonesfield Leather. To close this leather tarot card box, I bought this magnetic clasps on Amazon, they perfectly fit and match the pattern.

I really enjoyed making this project, I have put my Jeu de tarot (french tarot playing card game) inside, especially that the original box used was damaged. I am looking forward making more of those with different pattern for the cover of the box.
