Leather fountain pen dice bag

I did this small leather dice bag in shape of a fountain pen from an adaptation of a Dark Horse Workshop pattern. I have carved a ink and feather to keep the writing thematic. I really like the finished project.

I used some scrap of chrome tan leather for the gusset, and this project is perfect for it. Then I used the usual veg tan leather of 2-2.4mm thickness for the closing part and for carving the ink pot and feather. I also used a nice blue thread I bought from Stonesfield leather.

This time I only use a blue Angelus leather dye and a black Fiebing’s Pro dye. I then used acrylic pain as I wanted a bright blue and yellow, I used the Army Painter paints. I antique the design with a medium brown Fiebing’s Antique, and I used the usual trio of neatsfoot oilresolene and tokonole to finish this project.

I had one problem, when I added the tokonole, a part of the paint spread around, fortunately, it was an easy fixe to cover the smear of acrylic pain. It happened only at the base of the yellow feather and light blue ink. I am not sure why it happened and specifically just at this spot, but at least it was an easy fix.
