I love making pouch, even though I don’t use them much. This is my first leather fantasy pouch using the pattern from Dark Horse Workshop.

The pattern is easy to follow and requires two types of leather (a thin leather for the gusset, and a thick one for the rest of the pouch).First I needed to find a thin leather and eventually found a piece big enough in an old scrap bag of leather. It is a chrome tan leather in green color and fit perfectly the gusset purpose. Then to fit with the green color, I wanted a green gem. I struggled to find a green gem I like and of the good size, but eventually bought one on Aliexpress. Then I just used the usual 2-2.4mm leather thickness hide to make the reste of the pouch. The pattern contained the decorative holes, but next time I will do it, I will probably not do the decorative holes.

I used Fiebing’s leather pro dye and violet Angelus leather dye. As I did the Nordic style dragon carving, I used medium brown antique from Fiebing’s, and I used the usual trio to treat and finish this leather project: Neatsfoot oil, resolene and tokonole. I use a brown waxed and braided thread I bought from Amazon.
