I am doing archery, recurve and longbow, and I wanted to make a leather arm guard and a quiver. This post is about the arm guard and the next one I will show you the quiver.

I have followed this video from Weather Leather Supply to design the armguard. Also, this Youtube channel is an amazing way to learn leather crafting. I again used leather scrap from ArtisanLeather, it is perfect to work on different leather thickness and do fun stuff like the leather hairpins. We can see a leather mark on bottom left, that was present already when I bought the leather, yet the size of this piece was perfect and I was also my first bigger leather project. The leather mark will be cover by dye, yet it still visible a bit but it doesn’t bother me.
I have used leather tool from this pack bought on Amazon but I then bought a second swivel knife with a ceramic blade that I know use all time. I carved the arrow and stamped the background.

I dyed the leather using yellow and black Fiebings Pro Dye as I did for my leather Celtic infinite loop hairpin. I then added neatfoot oil, resolene, antique medium brown followed by resolene again and finally tokonole for the edge, all bought from Abbey England.

I used a black leather string to tight it to the arm. Of course there is some dying mistakes where we see the black dye in some yellow dyed areas, but I like it still.
